Evaluation of new Super 12
Testing it on 10" Dime against 950 loop, signal was 25 to 30% greater. Window was about 30%+ better. Visual Target ID and Audio was markedly improved. On pinpoint, Dime registered about 9 to 10" with 950 Loop. Detector used was an MXT running the Discrimination at the 9 o'clock position and Signal Balance/Gain at Preset. With the 12" Spider, I could raise the coil up another 4" and still hear the target. The Spider demonstrated improvement in TSD, Magnetic Noise and VDI Accuracy. Last night in an air test under the influence of buried power lines in my Demonstration Area, I took a 2 grain nugget which was heard best by the 950 loop and slightly by the Spider. Using about a 5 grain nugget, the Spider saw the larger nugget about 10% further than the 950 loop, but not as well defined. The Spider seemed a touch deeper in the air test and a better footprint on the 5 grain nugget. Again, using an MXT with Ground Tracking in the Preset-Locked Position, Prospecting Mode. The Magnetic Interference was a liability in the case of the larger loops and could be attenuating their overall performance capability, which was obvious on the 2 grain nugget as the signal was not enough to overcome any magnetic noise.
