I have always heard of the XLT as a great coin finder. I agree, however, I use a boosted relic program on mine and find the coins and also a lot of relics that would never see the light of day if I wasn’t using this program. I try to search mainly old home sites from the 1800’s and by doing so I sometimes stumble upon a 1700’s site.

To do this I look for rock piles and holes in the ground which indicate an old well. As you can see by the photos the XLT pulls the relics out of the ground. The button is a William Harrison 1840 campaign button for president. My partner and I have found 3 tobacco fields where once stood a house in the early to late 1800’s.

Other relics include a seat spring for a horse and buggy (1800’s), stirrups from the civil war and several axe heads. These are just a sample of the many relics my detector has shown me. The 2 Large Cents I found in April 2008 (1846 and 1853) were found at an 1800’s home site where no physical remains show today. We were referred to them by people in the area.

People talk about their competitor’s machines as good relic finders but I will take a White’s anytime! I have never had a problem with any of the White’s I have had over the years and look forward to many more years of using White’s detectors. Keep up the good work White’s.
