I've had my XLT for many years with lots of great finds under my belt, but
one day comes to mind that is kind of special. My buddy and I were looking
for lots to hunt and being in southern California, the lots can be
difficult to find on a good day. We were driving around town and came upon
a corner lot in a residential neighborhood that was small. We both figured
what the heck, so we got out our detectors and went to work. After a few
minutes of finding old glass and age indicators, it was obvious we had
stumbled onto an older home site from the early 1900's. In Southern
California, this is kind of unusual that nobody else had found it before
us, but miracles do happen. I ended up finding some very ornate brass
things such as door lock keyholes, a medal from the National Leather
Shoefinders Assn. and this very rare Cole Motor Car Company Radiator
Emblem. The Cole Motor Car Company only made cars for a few years and very
few were made to begin with, making this an extra rare find indeed.
My White's detector always finds the best stuff!
