Hi White's,
On a recent trip from Northern Wisconsin to San Diego California, I decided to send my newly purchased White's MXT 300 on ahead of me to my brother-in-laws home so it would be guaranteed to be there when I got there. Upon arriving I couldn't wait to put it together and head for the beach. The first day on the beach was a lot of fun. I spent two hours detecting and found several coins, an earring and some miscellaneous items. One fellow I met, with another name brand machine told me the MXT wouldn't work on the beach unless I stayed in the dry sand. I had gone down by the water earlier and put the MXT 300 in the salt position and pumped it a couple of times until it went quiet and then threw the switch from salt to the lock position as it would lock in on this saltiest black sand beach. After this fellow told me I couldn't use it on the beach, I strolled down on the wet sand with no problem and kept my gain at a +1. He looked at me with amazement. The second day out, one hit came in at a solid 10 on the VDI and upon triggering the pinpoint, got a 6 inch reading. I was hoping for a ring and from a 6 inch depth came a beautiful Peridot-Diamond and 10K Gold ring. It looked like new except for some sand scratches on it. I hit pay dirt this day and dug a total of 4 rings, $6.35 in change, 2 more earrings and many other small items of no consequence. One of the other rings found has me puzzled yet as to what it is and will get it checked out. It looks like silver but could be white gold. It also has a nice pale lavender stone with lots of fire in it but the uncommon Peridot and Diamond ring made my day. The MXT 300 is a real nickel getter too. I found 16 nickel on this second day out and am not used to finding so many them. Another day of hunting brought in more coins including a 1948D wheat penny and a 1953, 20 Francs French coin. No more rings or jewelry were found but I didn't need to find anything more. I was pleasantly surprised, very happy with my finds, tickled pink with the job my new MXT 300 did and will make the same trip again in the future. Thanks White's. Sincerely, Tom |
