White's,

I got a chance to detect a family friend's property which was a school during the mid 1800's. Since the property is for sale I spoke with the property manager and he seemed a little iffy on the idea of me digging holes.

After chatting for awhile I received a green light, but with a small window. The place is going up for sale and he doesn't really want me back "digging". I REALLY need to change his mind somehow. Off I went with my trusty DFX and the 950 coil. I'm going to try a different approach I said to myself, so I set my detector on Relic Mode which I normally don't use.

Usually I use a modified Hi-Pro setting that seems to do very well for me but after reading about so many detectorists using the Relic mode I gave it a try. Man am I glad I did. My first hole was a Indian head penny. As I started I quickly realized this place had never been metal detected before, four firsts where the outcome. Man I LOVE my DFX.
Well that's my story. Thanks for reading.
