A couple of weeks ago, I had decided to put the stock coil on my MXT to try it out. When I had purchased my MXT, I bought a DD coil and have always used this since the beginning.

I have only been metal detecting for less than a year, but have been pleasantly surprised by the ease and depth of the MXT. Anyways, I went to a Confederate camp site here in VA near Guinea Station. My buddy and I were digging up a few Gardner bullets and TONS of percussion caps when I got a faint signal.

Since I had found several percussion caps in that same area, I just assumed it was yet another one. I dug the hole and to my surprise it was a cuff sized button. Because of the dirt, I couldn't quite tell what the button was.

Once I got home, I was able to clean it up. As it turns out, it was a North Carolina state seal cuff button (NC-9). This is a pretty rare button and I am definitely proud to own it. Thanks to White’s for making a machine this good and easy to use.
