Last April I decided to buy a metal detector after wanting one since I was 10 (32 years ago)! After careful research, I decided to start with the Prizm II to see if I really would like this hobby. Living near the beaches of Southern Maine, I started getting up almost every day for 1-2 hrs. to hit them as early as I could. I am a 4th grade school teacher, so I have more time in the summer for hunting. Also, I had been telling tales of lost treasure in my social studies class, and kids love them, so it finally had to happen that I'd get a White's and get down to business! Even after the school year began in late August, I'd still go out after teaching all day to relax. One afternoon I was at my favorite spot when I found two rings, both of which I thought were junk (heard this before?). After bringing them home and cleaning them, I saw that they were both real silver! One was a toe ring (yuck), but the other had a heart and hands on it which my sister told me was from Ireland (Claddaugh). Next Monday at school, I showed the ring to a former student named Morgan. She was very interested in my stories when I was teaching her last year, and she comes from a very Irish family. I offered her the ring after she wowed over it, and what a hug I got! Thanks for making a quality detector even at the low end of the price chart |
