Hi, my name is Dave H.,

I bought a White's Prizm 5 last spring from my dealer here in Durango Iowa. His name is David Merfeld. I thought I'd share this story of my best find to date. I was detecting an old homestead built in 1852 by a Civil War Medal of Honor winner from our town (Cascade Iowa). The yard had been detected just before a friend of mine bought the house, and I went to see what I could find. The gentleman's name was James Hill, Chaplain in the 21st Iowa Infantry during the civil war (you can internet search his name and read the story about him winning the medal of honor) There were a lot of unfilled holes all over the yard and right in the middle of all the digs I found a civil war officers infantry button with most of the gold gilding still on it at about 7 inches. Then about a month later I was back there and I found a silver shield pin that had his name, rank and unit etched on it. It said James Hill, Chaplain, 21st Iowa Infantry. I put it on loan to our local historical society. They were thrilled to get it as he was instrumental in organizing our 1st church and our 1st railroad(narrow gauge) to this small town. It was quite an exciting find in this small town and I still get asked about it. Three people I know of have bought White's detectors because of my find hoping they might be so lucky. What a great hobby! Thanks to Whites and the Prizm V, great machine.
