I found this button while searching our woods in an area where an old log cabin had been. I haven't found anything relating to the cabin yet but this was an interesting find considering I'm in southern Ohio.

I knew where it came from the moment I found it. My wife's Great Uncle who grew up on the farm moved to Detroit and became a police officer. I contacted his son so that I could mail the button to him. He is a fellow genealogist and was excited to hear about my find. He told me that his father passed away in 1973 and retired from the Detroit police department in 1949. That button had been in the ground for a long time.
