Dear White's,

I recently traded another brand metal detector for a White's MXT. I must admit I was a bit nervous at first, but after a few minutes in the field my mind was set at ease.

In just a couple of months, my MXT has netted me many nice finds, including an 1863 Civil War Token, an 1851 Large Cent and an unknown coin/token which stumped a coin dealer (we're still trying to determine what it actually is). I was using the coin/jewelry program when I found these items.

The 1863 Civil War token was found with the stock 950 coil. It was about 6 inches down and the MXT gave a definite "DIG!" signal, so I dug it. I didn't pay much attention to the item until I got home and discovered what it was: The 1851 Large Cent is another item where the MXT was screaming at me to dig. I was using the Eclipse 6X10DD coil (I LOVE IT!) and when the coil went over that coin the MXT knew exactly what it was, no questions whatsoever.

The coin pinpointed at 8 inches down, and there it was exactly as projected by the MXT. When I reintroduced the coin to the light of day and realized what it was, I left it caked in dirt and took a photo of it under a circular lamp. Here is the photo before I brushed the dirt off. And finally, the unknown coin/token, again, the MXT knew a coin-type object was in the ground and there was no question whether or not to dig. I was using the 6X10DD coil which stays on my machine now!

This item was found at 8 inches as well. It's copper and very thin, as thin as a 1 reale, and slightly larger around than a modern quarter. The word to the right of the horse's head is "CONSUL" but we can't make out any other complete words on the front. On the back, on the bottom, it says "JAN 7" then something else, and the word "LIBERTY" is under that. Here are 2 pictures in different shading of the face of the coin/token.

I am VERY impressed with the MXT and can't wait to obtain more coils for it. It's definitely giving my husband's DFX a run for its money!! I'm looking forward to a FANTASTIC 2009!

Thanks for producing a fantastic product!
