Just wanted to email your company and say a BIG MAHALO for making a great product. I traded someone for a GMT a couple of weeks ago and finally had an opportunity to use this detector. I had a day off on 12/26/06 the day after Christmas so I met up with some friends at Franconia, Arizona to do some meteorite hunting. Little did I know what kind of day I was in store for.

I was hunting for about two hours with no luck and was finally about ready to quit when another GMT user came over and helped me with my settings. It seems that the auto fast track was tracking out some signals without my knowledge. I reset the unit to the following settings: VSAT at 9X, gain was at 4 and I had the ground balance set for Manual. Within 30 minutes of hunting with these settings I almost lost my hearing as the unit LITERALLY screamed so loud the nearest guy about thirty feet away yelled at me to "STOP AND DIG THAT SIGNAL!"

As it turned out, I didn't have to do any such thing as you will see from the attached picture of my very first meteorite. It weighs over 300 grams as my small scale hit Overload when I tried to weigh it. I have just ordered a 500 gram scale and hope that one is enough. People at the outing were flabergasted at my luck. I just told them that I was at the right place at the right time with the right detector. BOOYAH!!

Am now looking at getting a bigger coil to cover more ground. Can hardly wait to see what I find during my next outing to the same area. Once again, Mahalo for your work in building a great detector and you have a loyal user now.
