White's Electronics,

This past Monday, I received a phone call from a man who had lost his wedding band at a local park the Saturday before. Since my White's XLT detector was back at the shop and out of commission for now, I mentioned to him that I could not be of any help to him.

His response back was that he will rent a detector for me to use. The tone of his voice plus his determination made me want to do whatever it took to help him find it. I told him after this statement that I will contact my metal detecting buddy to see if he will lend me his detector for the day?

Well my friend loaned me his White's Goldmaster II unit (he couldn't join us since he had to go to work). I then made arrangements with this man to meet on Wednesday morning in this parks parking lot. Once there, this man showed me where he had parked the day it was lost. He then told me that it could be anywhere from this parking lot to a gated swimming pool that you could see off in the distance about 75 yards away. He also made mention that It could very well be somewhere around the bushes by this pools gate as well?

I strapped on my detector (had pretty much coursed balanced it earlier that morning at home) and put on my earphones. I walked over to where the grass began and with my feet still on the asphalt lot. I swung my search coil over to the grassy area to do the final ground balancing on this unit.

Upon placing my search coil at ground level to finalize the ground balancing, it immediately started buzzing. I didn't realize at first that I was right over this lost ring nor did I realize that this man with me could not hear what I was hearing because I had my ear phones on.

I mentioned that I was picking something up and I kneeled down, set my detector on the ground, took out my pin pointer and started to probe around to zero in on what was making my detector buzz like a rotary dull band saw cutting steel.

Well after pulling out some grass strands -- there it was glistening in the sunshine. A hefty two tone gold mans wedding ring. While I was still in the stooped position, I reached over and handed this man his lost ring and told him "Here is your lost ring, Bob"

When I stood up, we both looked at each other in total disbelief. It took less than 10 seconds to locate this ring. The amazed look on our faces with our jaws dropped open and our eyes as big as saucers is a picture for the story books.

This man was so over whelmed with joy that he called his wife on his cell to tell her the good news. Well a couple of handshakes later, we parted. Another great find by a White's unit.
