I've been fairly fortunate this year in my discoveries
however, what you see in the picture before you is one of
my favorite. This is a 2000+ year old Bronze Roman Sieve
which The British Museum has since informed me is an
"archaeologically important find" due to the rarity of
the item. I have since handed my Sieve over to the Farmer
who granted me digging permission and requested that he
pass this along to the local archeologists.
I think the neatest thing about finding this Roman
artifact is that I found it on my Birthday and had
only been detecting for about an hour before it turned
up. I was quite surprised due to the faint signal and the
depth at which it was recovered. I truly wish I had my
camera with me so everyone could see the 14+ inch deep
hole that I dug to recover my Roman Bronze!
With out a doubt I can safely say that I've been
tremendously successful with my DFX this year and no other
detector has been able to perform like my White's. I would
like to say that I've been able to convert some of my
detecting buddies to White's however they still seem to
have faith in their respective machines. I hope they
stick with the inferior detectors because I truly enjoy
having the advantage on the field.
Respectfully,
