Dear White's, I just recently got into metal detecting here in California. My friend has been an active metal detectorist for almost two years and has been relatively successful with a White's DFX. Anyway one day I asked him to take me out which he did. He had permission to hunt a house site he had never hunted before. There was mostly junk and the house site had really been disturbed. He encouraged me to us a small grassy plain that was nice and flat. Within minutes I got my first signal, I was expecting a washer or a bolt, but out popped a really nice 200 year old Chinese coin from the Gold Rush. I was instantly hooked and was thrilled to be the first person to hold something for the first time in 150+ years. My friend went overseas to work, but left me his DFX. I have subsequently found a cool pair of 1850's scissors which are relatively rare for the Gold Rush, and one half of a neat black powder flask half with a deer on it. I am definitely a metal detectorist for life and the White's DFX is an awesome machine, one even a newbie can just turn on and go. Thanks Whites, |
