Dear Whites:

I had been looking for a small civil war camp in an area for over six years and one night at our regular meeting one of the members told me a story of where he had recovered a union button and a dropped three ringer. Well the hunt was back on because where he found that stuff was close to where I had been looking. After loading my DFX and getting permission I was excited to see the field still open an undeveloped, however the grass was very thick and tall. Not wanting to wait someday for shorter grass I replaced my super 12 with the standard stock 950 coil and off I went. Working in the tall grass was much easier with the smaller coil but in my mind I thought I would be giving up some depth. Until the sweet sound of a smooth tone rang out. To my surprise I dug out five GAR cuff buttons out of a single hole. These buttons had to be new at the time they were lost since they still had the mounting card ring on the back of each button, what a great find! After clearing my hole I continued on hunting retrieving two union toe plates. But the best was still to come, after approximately an hour I heard a sound that I really could not pass. Digging down about eight inches I located an 1881 Morgan Silver Dollar. Wow what a day, if I had been using the bigger coil I donʼt think I would have been able to work the field as well, I didn't find the civil war camp but I think I stumbled onto a GAR camp, which is just fine. Thanks for the great products; I'll be a Whiteʼs man forever.
