I know you want good finds for your stories, but I had to tell you what happened to me. It was December 28th and I was out at the park sandbox with my Prizm II just killing time. I just had to dig something up, I always find coins and sometimes a ring in the sand.

Well I had this kid who was all over me asking 1001 things about the detector. To stop this young man from driving me nuts, I let him use my Prizm. The kid must have been 13-15 years old... hard to tell.

After finding coins and tabs he wanted to give the coins to me. I told him to keep the coins. Now two days into the New Year 2009 I always go out to find the first coin of the year. I was at the park with my XL Pro looking for some silver, and I ran into the same kid I let use my Prizm II.

He was grinning from ear to ear and showed me his Christmas gift.... It was a Prizm III! I stopped detecting and started to show him how to use his new detector. No, I didn't find my coin on New Year's... BUT I DID FIND A YOUNG MAN WHO HAS A HOBBY FOR LIFE. THIS IS MY BEST FIND FOR 2009 AND I DON'T THINK ALL THE COINS CAN TOP THAT FOR ME.

Sometimes if we spend some time with our young people we can make a big change for the good. The best finds can be more than coins or rings.
