In November of 2006 I decided after doing quite a bit of research to purchase White's DFX. I had been out of detecting for a long time almost twenty years. My last detector was a White's Coinmaster 6000-d series 3, which I still have stored away.

From the second my DFX arrived I knew I had made the right choice. After getting a few accessories from White's I immediately saw my numbers start going up. Once I learned some of the options the DFX offered I decided to hunt three to four times a week. It seemed the DFX would find coins in any type of condition I hunted and I felt if the coins were there I was going to find them. I decided to set a goal of five thousand coins for the year. By July I knew it was time to go higher and doubled my goal.

I just crossed ten thousand coins for the year. I documented each hunt and kept a coin counter on a few treasure hunting forums. The support and motivation given by White's users and others was incredible. I received letters and articles and all kinds of support when I doubled my goal to ten thousand. I have included some pictures of my year up to now detecting.

My kids even hunted a few times this year. My nine year old son Kyle found a silver Superman pendant and some coins within fifteen minutes, that article was featured by White's in January. Hopefully my finds earn me a story too. My daughter Kelsey's best find was a bicentennial quarter.

It has been a fun year and thanks for the support and great customer service from White's which also played a part in making this year so enjoyable.
