Dear White's, The sun had just gone down and we decided to call it a day. Near the edge of the cornfield that we were hunting my DFX picked up a solid silver signal at 4.5". I wasn't very optimistic because in this field that usually meant a large ball of kettle brass. With no light I was operating by feel so when I first located the object and felt its triangular shape, my excitement grew. I thought that I'd found a piece of trade silver from the fur trade era. Quickly I pulled my mini-mag from my pocket and saw that the piece was decorated and my excitement continued to grow. When I flipped it over and saw the"03", I knew it was a cut coin and not trade silver. It was an exciting moment for me. This was my oldest and most unique coin find to date. Thank you White’s for a great machine and countless hours of enjoyment! Sincerely, Scott (IA) |
