I've been metal detecting for a few years now with a DFX, and recently received permission to detect an old field. The first time out I got a couple of coppers in real bad condition.and a few buttons. On the forth time out after spending a few hours swinging I received a VDI of 25-26 but it had a great tone, after digging about 6 inches down I was rewarded with my first half cent an 1809 in great condition. About 5 minutes later I received a great tone but the VDI numbers were skipping from -17 to 22 but I had to dig the tone anyways. At around 3 inches down I dug up an iron nail, but decided to rescan the hole again and received a VDI of 23 2 inches below I found my first 2 cent piece dated 1864 in pretty good condition I just want to thank you for making such a fantastic machine.
