Hi, I was just putting together a story about some of the amazing finds I'd had with the Spectra V3 this spring in various locations: a 14K opal ring with 18 diamonds at the beach, a nice 1801 Spanish reale in an old field, and a 100 year old monogrammed silver ring, while not worth a lot of cash, is a really cool historical find, and actually one of my favorites. Then, just the other day, I went to a small park that has been hunted to death, where even the clad is hard to find, and the Spectra V3 found this beautiful 1800 draped bust half dime. VDI was +53 (I thought it was going to be a zinc penny or a silver earring), and it was 4 inches deep. I couldn't believe it. I don't know if the V3 found it where other machines missed it, or if by luck no one had hit that spot, and I don't care. Coin was graded VF20, worth $2500 undamaged, unfortunately coin had taken some damage from being in the ground over 200 years, but I was still offered more than half what I paid for the V3, for one coin. Thanks White's! Randy (PA) |
