Dear White's Electronics,

For my wife's upcoming birthday my in-laws, Mal and Regina, took us to Bakersfield for a day's outing and lunch. Mal is intrigued with metal detectors and wanted me to bring my White's DFX to hunt some parks.
The first park we stopped at has a large sandy playground that looked promising for some clad. I had brought my Eclipse 5.3 search coil and soon realized with very little to show that a local detectorist has the area stalked out.

As Mal and I were walking back to the car I was swinging the coil over the last area I hadn't covered when I got an erratic VDI reading of 90-92 at 6 inches. We were both surprised when we heard the loud clanking from the bottom of the sand scoop. The clanking sound turned out to be a 1922 Peace silver dollar. Well worth the 2 hour trip and a little baking soda paste removed decades of tarnish from the coin for a nice conversation piece.
