Years ago I received permission to hunt on a local golf course (a lot of interesting things are lost in the rough), and in order not to disturb the golfers, I do it at night at times with the aid of a small head lamp to keep my hands free. On one occasion one of the knobs that hold my arm rest worked itself loose and dropped off. I had a few spares, so it's no calamity.

One night, about one full year later I got a signal near a pine tree for something about 1" deep. Imagine my surprise when up popped my knob!
As I don't have the discipline to search such a huge piece of ground methodically, I never imagined that I would ever see that item again.
