Hello White’s,

My name is Tim, and I live in a small town in South Alabama that dates back to the 1800's. I purchased my first White’s metal detector from a fellow White's metal detectorist I met thru the White's Metal Detecting Forum.

My detector is an IDX Pro with the standard 9.5 coil. Now for the story, I received permission to hunt an old drive in theater just outside of my home town. This Drive-in was opened in the 40's and continued to operate until around 1975. I spoke with the owner who told me that her father had built the drive-in to give the hard working country folks something to do on Saturday nights.

Money was real tight back then and a lot of the boys were returning home from the war in Europe and the Pacific. Admission was $3.00 per vehicle. She laughed at this point, fondly remembering those easier times, saying that the folks would "Load up the trucks" with anyone that wanted to go!

Anyway she told me to be sure and check around the area were the big screen had been, because they had built some swings, merry-go-round, and see-saws for the kids to play on during the movie. I hunted this area first and never made it any farther! I found 44 Lincoln pennies, 4 wheat pennies, 33 dimes, 2 Quarters, 1 Half dollar, 3 nickels, 2 silver rings; one of which was 6 inches down, and 1 1937 Buffalo nickel! This was in just one afternoon!

All I can say is “Thanks, White's for making the BEST metal detectors!!!

Tim

Hello White’s,

My name is Carl and I have been metal detecting for 3 and a half years. About a year ago I purchased a White's DFX metal detector. I am very fortunate to live between two civil war battlefields. So I hunt relics frequently. I am five hours from the coast of South Carolina. So I do a fair share of dry sand beach hunting as well. I have multitudes of city parks at my disposal as well. I think you get the hint here .The DFX is an all around metal detector handling everything from civil war relics to the beaches of South Carolina.

The factory preset programs are wonderful! If you want to tweak the gain or some other parameter you can. Best of all you can come up with programs of your own and SAVE them! Hunting in multiple frequencies still amazes me but what's in my pocket at the end of the day is more amazing! My very best day with the DFX happened on an early morning in May at one of my favorite South Carolina beaches. A thunderous tone came over my headphones, I scooped up the target. Wow! A ladies Bellaire watch I later researched was valued at $ 4400.00.

Twenty minutes later I found a silver wedding band. I am so excited by now. I stroll down the beach and a low growl came over the headphones and in my scoop was a U.S. Naval academy ring with the person's name in it that lost it. I call the Alumni president and asked if he would contact the person who lost the ring. He said he would. The next morning I got a call from the person who lost it. This was the first time I have ever found something that I could give back .I cannot describe the feeling I got when I heard the trembling voice thanking me for finding his ring. It had been lost for two weeks there. The ring had meant a lot to this fellow. I finished the day by filling a 44 oz. drink cup full of coins!

I would recommend the White's DFX metal detector to anyone that wanted a detector that tackled all varieties of detecting, from a city park to the beaches and battlefields across America. It's easy to use the factory presets or tweak the detector to your soil conditions in your area. I have more than paid for my DFX in less than six months of purchasing it! Call it beginners luck .I call it superb technology by White's.

With any metal detector there is a learning curve. The DFX is no exception. The time and efforts are well rewarded in treasures you find and the possibility of finding something a returning it to the owner is better than any gold to be found. On a scale of 1 through 10 I rate this metal detector a 10 plus!

Thanks White's for a superb metal detector.

Carl
