My wife and I just started metal detecting, she has a Prism IV. We were searching at an old park and her Prism IV went off and showed 50 cents. When she dug the coin out it turned out to be 2 quarters lying on top of each other. I don't know how yall did it, but the Prism IV can add!

On December 30, 2007, I was relic hunting for gold rush era artifacts in the Sierra foothills. I was hunting a remote gold camp I had hunted previously and had recovered a few Chinese coins and an 1812 dated Prussian coin. I had thought I had hunted out this camp so I was just sort of walking through quickly to explore another area. I decided to re-check by the largest tree. I immediately got a very large signal with my White's DFX.

It was so large that I thought someone had dropped an aluminum can since I had been there last. I stuck the shovel in the ground and flipped over the dirt. I could immediately see a tongue portion to a two piece buckle at about 3 inches down. I carefully picked it up to examine the face. When I saw it, I knew I had never seen a face like this one. It was crudely cast and the design included a man holding something with what looked like mountains in the background.

When I went home I did some research and discovered that it was a tongue portion to a very rare 1850's California miner's belt plate. The design has a miner with a shovel in one hand, and holding a gold nugget in the other. The Sierra foothills in the background with a cactus and California fauna on the bottom right, all under a six pointed star. It is an incredibly rare buckle and few are known. It was a great relic find.

Dear White’s!

About six years ago, I sent for a catalog and $50 coupon from White's, and researched your detectors, but never followed through. Even twenty-five years ago as a kid I thought it would be really neat to have a detector, but it never came to be.

Sometime in early 2006, my girlfriend and I started talking about buying a detector, after seeing a White's ad and watching several "treasure-hunting" shows. I love to go scavenging for can deposits and gem mining with my 4 year old son, so I decided finally it was time to buy a detector, and it HAD to be a White's.

This Christmas, my parents and my three sisters gave me $240 in gift cards to the Kittery Trading Post, in Kittery, ME, so I could buy my Prizm III. I ended up buying a Prizm II on sale, and a sand sifter, with change to spare! I figured I didn't need Depth indication for the price difference, since the detector only reads as deep as it is wide...I thought. In fact, I can attest to the Prizm II giving accurate readings as deep as 16" in packed sand!

I live about 400' from Old Orchard Beach, ME. Within five minutes of taking the Prizm II out of the box, my girlfriend and I got our very first indication on the preset sensitivity and discrimination. The screen showed a medium ring/tab/penny. After fifteen minutes of digging and scanning, she said, "There's NOTHING in this hole". Then I saw it.

What amounts to a several-carat, emerald cut clear stone, with a .33ish carat triangle cut clear stone either side in a silver setting. You've never seen two idiots jumping up and down and screaming on the freezing cold empty beach at eleven o'clock at night like we were!

Literally five minutes out of the box we got the indication and in twenty minutes we were sitting at home drinking coffee, with a shiny old ring!! I've told EVERYBODY. And I told them not to buy ANYTHING but a White's!!!

I have been a White’s user since I purchased my 6000 Di III back in 1984. I have since moved up to the 6000 Pro series, XLT and now have the wonderful DFX. I have to tell you I read with interest the user reviews on the 'Super 12 coil for the DFX and thought Yeah, right just another additional expense for my hobby.

Well for my birthday last September I asked for the 'Super 12' for my birthday and received it shortly thereafter. I must say that the finds started popping out of the ground as soon as I started using it! I found it amazing and so did my two Treasure hunting buddies. I was searching a Union civil War encampment site that all three of us had investigated many times over the past three years and the finds were amazing. 54 Cal Sharps, 44 Cal Bartholow, 44 Cal Watervliet Arsenal, 44 Cal Elam O. Potter (one with the cartridge still attached), a 54 Cal Sharps & Hankins complete cartridge, most of a brass spur with the iron rowel attached.

The coins that were found although few are very impressive, 1857 Flying Eagle Cent, and an 1854 silver Three Cent piece. Several canteen pugs have been found and a wonderful clay pipe of a man's head wearing a helmet, this even has different colors used on it, the underlying color is brown, the beard is black, the lips are red, the eyes were colored but did not survive the many years in the soil, and the visor is green. All I can say is it is difficult to search with your friends when you have the best equipment and find the best items every time!

Buttons were also found although most were the worst for condition due to the terrible soil in northern Virginia. The best button I found was a South Carolina State Seal Cuff button. Many Union General Services button have been found as well. The biggest problem with the Whites 'Super 12 coil' is that my Treasure hunting buddies have a hard time believing that they find so few items compared to what I am finding. I keep telling them that I have a secret; I have the best detector made and have the best accessories to go with it; namely the 'Super 12 inch' coil!

Check out a few pictures of some of my finds. Note: these are just since late Sept 2007! What will be found in 2008? I am looking forward to finding out for sure!

I have been hunting with my White's MXT for 3-years now and it has more than paid for itself many times over. This White's machine is awesome on coins and jewelry. I recently used the White's MXT at a local football-baseball field which is owned by the city school system.

I had permission to hunt this site as they were getting ready to remove the grass and 8-inches of top-soil for installation of artificial turf grass. I hunted the grassy area for two weeks before the crew came in and started excavating. I ran my White's MXT at 9 on gain and 2 on disc with just a slight audible from the threshold. The targets were from 2-5 inches deep with different VDI numbers.

I am including pictures of the area before the grass was removed, the removing of some grass and the actual dozer work. My finds for this excursion was 471 quarters, 385 dimes, 203 nickels and 530 pennies, along with six silver rings, two gold plated rings, two 10kt gold rings and a 14kt gold ring. I used the White's Eclipse shooter 4x6 and an Eclipse 5.3 6x6 search coil along with the 9.5 stock coil. Thank You White's for this great machine it does an outstanding job in finding Buried Treasures.
