My name is Pete and I am a dealer (QuestFind) for West Tennessee. I have been a dealer for almost 10 months. My distributor, Zach Bruce suggested I email a short story of my recent finds and especially what has been described by local experts as "a find of a lifetime".

I stumbled across a Civil War hotspot several months ago that continuously amazes me! I have found many bullets of different styles and calibers, both Union and Confederate, some were dropped in the heat of battle and some were fired with the rifle grooves very distinct. The area has yielded many Union Infantry buttons, both officer and enlisted. This was not a major battle, more like a skirmish or maybe just an unrecorded incident, but the proof of something happening there is obvious.

When I recently returned for another try at finding treasure, I found what has been described as the "find of a lifetime" by local experts in Civil War artifacts. It is a round shoulder buckle plate with the original state seal of Ohio on it shown below the display case. The plate has what appears to be battle damage but it could just be from the ravages of time. This is a rare plate having just been used at the beginning of hostilities; it was later replaced by a different style.

The pictured display case contains some of my finds, most of which came from my hotspot. The small round disk in the display case is a Union Cavalry Rosette that I found in my backyard. It is in very bad condition but it looks good in my display case. The wonderful mystery of metal detecting is that you never know what the next sweep of the coil may bring you. My hotspot is Anywhere, TN, my backyard proves it, I always go to a new place with anticipation, wherever people have been, things got lost or thrown away, I have confidence my White's detector will find it. My DFX has always amazed me with its depth detecting ability for small targets, and the pinpointing feature is worth its weight in gold.
