I have only had my DFX for two months and have found some amazing things with it. A few days ago I decided to try an old country court house site. The building, which was built in the 1880's no longer stands; the Senior Center is there now. I thought I would start looking at the base of a very big, old mapple tree. I was a few minutes into my search and the DFX screamed at me that something was right on the surface. Sure enough, just under the soil I unearthed this relic. The massive tree roots must have pushed it up to the surface. At first I thought it was a miniature horse shoe! When I got home, I looked on the internet, and discovered that it is a shoe heel plate. From all the research I have done, I believe I have found a ladies shoe heel plate. The heel plate is probably Victorian, because it is "fancy". All of the ones I saw on the internet were just plain and utilitarian, the soles of shoes were made of leather in the 1800's and shoes were not always easy to come by. Heel plates were common additions to shoes and boots to extend their life. When I look at the back of it straight on, I can see that one side is more worn that the other, so it defiantly was worn by someone. I have never seen a heel plate before, and this one is going into my collection of finds. I also found a couple of square nails and two memorial pennies that day. Thank you White's for making this fun hobby so easy! Jeanne L. in Michigan

I bought my Prizm IV from a local Hobby Shop(Hobby Town) in March of this year. I'd been looking at all types and brands of detectors for sometime and was hoping I was choosing wisely when I decided on the White's Prizm IV. The detector was a breeze to assemble, the instructions were clear and easy to follow, I even got online and watched the instructional videos offered by White's. In an hour I was ready to go detecting, or so I thought. My Prizm IV proved itself to be very user friendly and reliable, and surprisingly accurate. I jokingly told my wife that I would save every coin I found till I had enough to cover the cost of my detector, well she held me to my word. My wife even went out and bought me a "treasure chest" to keep all my finds and "treasure" in. In five months of sporadic hunting I have found over half of the cost of my detector. That doesn't include treasures like rings, earrings, other bangles, jewlery, or the innumerable pull tabs and bottle tops. There were tokens, watches, lots and lots of toy cars and disposable lighters, nuts & bolts, screws, eye glasses, metal blobs, and more importantly, hours and hours of enjoyment and excitement! All this took a little bump in the road last week when while out detecting in a local park my trusty detector broke! Well, not the detector itself, but the plastic armrest (arm cuff?) snapped on one side. The next day I called HobbyTown, my local dealer, and explained what had happened and inquired about getting a replacement. I was shocked at the news that the cuff was not a replacement item. Thinking that I would have to end up making a new cuff myself, I was jolted when my dealer told me that he would check with his distributor but that he thought I would have to send my machine back to whites and get a replacement. I did get a call back, and not but a few minutes later! My dealer told me that an exchange was in order and that since he had several more Prizm IV's in stock that I could just bring my detector in to the shop and he would swap me out with a new one that very day. I WAS VERY! My dealer and the White's distributor made a loyal customer out of me that day. This replacement Prizm IV works every bit as well and functions identically to my previous machine. The first hunt with this new Prizm IV began at daybreak; I was at the park, at sunrise. This park had just had an Arts and Crafts fair this past weekend so my prospects and hopes were high for finding lots of coins and other treasures. And I began finding targets as soon as I turned my detector on and began sweeping the grass just off the parking lot, heading into the park. Because of a storm I didn’t get to hunt very long, so I came back that afternoon when the weather was a little better. I resumed my hunt but in a different area of the park. I found one lone gold earring, a razor blade?, a key fob, a padlock, eye glasses (3 different broken pairs). A hitch pin, grommets, display hooks a belt buckle, and of all things, a tiny stuffed cloth Monkey head. ??? This find was my eye of course but it was very nearby to a target that turned out to be a 1947 nickel. So, you could say that I found the monkey head because of the detector finding the nickel . My first hunt I found 133 coins! Totaling $8.06, not too impressive monetarily, but outrageously encouraging for this hobbyist! You might say that I'm very VERY pleased with my detector, and very happy that I chose the White's brand to begin with. I didn't know at the time the wonderful service and support I would be getting with my purchase, but you can bet I'm passing along that information to my friends and anyone else talking about getting a metal detector. I can only think of one word that can sum it all up for me. 'WOW"! Thanks to White's, my local dealer(Hobby Town) and to everyone in between that have made this experience such a pleasurable one for me. What could have been a real hassle with any other manufacture or distributor was handled with courtesy, professionalsim, and speed. Again, it made a loyal customer out of me, that's for sure!
Thanks for everything!

Dear White's, My Name is Don and I live in Illinois, I recently bought a White's Prizm 5 metal detector, and just wanted to show you a couple of my recent finds. The first one is a large heavy class ring I found in a park last week. There was boys name engraved on the side of the ring, after doing some research I found his phone number. I was able to speak with his father and we arranged to meet on Tuesday to reunite the ring and boy. He never thought he would see his ring again and is very happy to have it back! The second find is an 1840's military belt buckle with the eagle and thirteen stars on the front. I found this at an 1850's farm house, where my detector gave off a faint beep, but I found it after digging 10" down. WOW what a piece!!! I just want to add a thank you to White's for making a great machine, I will do more business with you in the future. Don |

Dear Nice People at White’s, After retiring in the 2000 as a New Jersey police officer of 33 years, I thought my days of chasing bad guys were over until Monday September 10, 2007. I was searching one of the beaches at the Jersey shore with my Prizm V, when I noticed a middle aged man walking in my direction of an unattended beach blanket, attempting to remove something from a bag that was there. I yelled “Hey what are you doing, get out of there. With that, he ran like a rabbit off the beach. The police were notified by the beach patrol, who then took a statement from me. I continued with my search of the beach, when not more then 50 feet from the incident I got a strong hit between 4 and 6 inches down. As I uncovered the sand I got a wonderful surprise, I found a gold cross with several beautiful stones in it. It was like the good Lord had rewarded me for doing a good deed. Thanks for making the Prizm V, it is the best yet in the line. T.J.S. of New Jersey
