We are always interested in a good metal detector treasure story. Family outings, a vacation hunt that paid for the trip, a backyard with a history! Mention the metal detector, how deep was the find, and any other interesting details. Include a few pictures of yourself and the treasure.

M6 finds 1875 half dollar!

Hello,

I bought my M6 in January after deciding on which model to buy (of course, the make had to be White's) as I have owned 4 other White's detectors over the years, I like to go with good quality, excellent made products.

I "practiced" with the detector about a month, finding clad coins and other items before going out for serious finds. In one of our bigger local parks, there is an area which is rarely used. I have found a few silver coins there, the best ones, pictured, a 1914 quarter and a well worn 1875 half dollar, of which is, by the way, the oldest coin that I have found detecting, in the many years I have used a detector.

I also have found a few rings since January and the White Gold plated ring with a Cubic Zirconia stone, in the picture, is the best one, so far. The Texas Silver ring was found in a playground area of a park that I hunt frequently.

You always come through with great products, and the M6 is top notch. Thanks for letting me have fun detecting by building excellent detectors!!!

Robert,
TX

XLT finds copper

Dear Whites,

I wanted to take a moment to share with you my latest find from May 8th, 2007. I am the proud owner of an XLT living in a small Colonial New Hampshire town, and absolutely love this machine. Over the winter I practiced with different modes and programs, and have become quite fond of the 'Mixed Mode' feature.

I decided that I would go back over ground that I had covered in the past to see if I could truly get more depth from this program and see what I missed...and here's my results! I got a solid +84 Quarter hit at 12".....not faint at all, but a nice clear tone....and uncovered this beautiful 1750 King George 2nd copper! And trust me when I say that it was at least a foot deep!

The details started to show through right off, and I knew I had found a real keeper! Most coppers found in my area are worn flat or have very little detail left....but this coin is amazing. This proves that there is so much treasure out there to be found...

Thanks to all of you at Whites for doing such a great job!

Sincerely,
Hank E.

Dear White's,

It has been my intention to write you for some time now, but I always had a lot of trouble deciding which find I should write about, having made so many in my ten years using your machines. In the past decade, using a White's XLT, I have found hundreds of colonial coins and relics across the state of Massachusetts, including Spanish silver, state, fugio, & nova coppers, large cents, seated and barber coins, 2 & 3 cent pieces, military buckles and buttons, etc. While all of these things were exciting to recover, the greatest thing I have found while metal detecting wasn't in the middle of a giant cornfield, or near an ancient homestead deep in the forest, or even at the bottom of a hole. This great hobby has introduced me to some of the nicest, most interesting people I've ever met. It has also inspired in me an interest in other treasure hunting activities which I have come to love as much as metal detecting, such as gold prospecting, and surface hunting for Native American artifacts. The new friends and hobbies that I've made are without a doubt the best things I've found while using a White's metal detector!

Every treasure hunter, myself included, loves to see what another has found, and the best thing about finding treasure is being able to share it, so here are some of the nice things I've dug.

And thanks White's, for building excellent metal detectors.

Sincerely,
Paul G.

DFX finds 1777 button!

I purchased my DFX from Kelly Co. last month and have been having a great time. The site I'm hunting on is an old stone foundation on a relative's farm in CT. We knew the site had 18th century pottery, nails, pipes and other odds and ends. I was shocked when the first week with my DFX I was getting a 17+ VDI in the stone foundation. I moved a few rocks from the wall and there sitting nicely protected from the elements was this 1777 USA Continental Army General Service enlisted soldier's button. I took it to a military button expert to have it authenticated that following week and was graded as "excellent" condition. From my understanding the only other USA 1777 button's found were near or at Valley Forge. I've attached a picture of the button taken by Don Troiani who wrote the "Militay Buttons of the American Revolution."
