We are always interested in a good metal detector treasure story. Family outings, a vacation hunt that paid for the trip, a backyard with a history! Mention the metal detector, how deep was the find, and any other interesting details. Include a few pictures of yourself and the treasure.

Christmas 2003 brought in two famous faces into our retail store Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. It seems they were bitten by the treasure hunting bug when they found two old coins while excavating for a pond on their property just outside Tulsa. They are now the proud owners of 3 MXT's. We will keep you posted on their finds.

Gold dollar in grandson!

I just want to let you know of an unusual way that my husband used his metal detector recently. Our grandson, Ty, was playing with a gold Sacagawea dollar one night and accidentally swallowed it. After almost choking on it, he did swallow the coin. We watched him for a week, hoping that it would 'pass', but we never did see it. Before taking him in for expensive x-rays, my husband decided to use his metal detector to see if it would show up. Sure enough!!, there it was high up inside his stomach! It came across loud and clear! The next day we made a trip to the emergency room where they took x-rays and found the dollar had stuck to the side of his stomach. (right where the detector had shown). Because of the gold in the dollar and the stomach acids, the Dr. told us that the dollar never would move and he would have to have it either taken out thru his mouth or it would have to be removed surgically. It proved to be too heavy to remove thru his mouth, so a small incision was made in his upper stomach and the coin was removed the next day. Ty now has the x-rays, the coin, and a story about finding it in his stomach with a metal detector for interesting story telling for years to come! Our White Metal Detector was worth a lot to us!

Thank you, Anne, OK
